It Starts With the Blank
In the print-on-demand world, "blank" refers to the base garment before any printing or embroidery happens. Most brands choose blanks based on one metric: cost. We choose based on a different question: Is this garment worthy of the VEXR eagle?
If the answer is no, we don't use it. Full stop.
Our Hoodie Standard
VEXR hoodies are built on heavyweight fleece blanks — typically 8–13 oz per square yard, compared to the 5–6 oz standard found in most gym-wear brands. This means:
- The hoodie holds its shape wash after wash
- The weight feels intentional — like armor
- The interior brushed fleece stays soft, not scratchy
- Shrinkage is minimal with proper care
Our Tee Standard
Premium ring-spun cotton is the foundation of every VEXR tee. Ring-spun cotton is created by twisting and thinning the cotton fibers to create a stronger, smoother yarn. The result is a shirt that:
- Feels substantially softer than standard cotton
- Maintains its structure without feeling stiff
- Holds DTG print color without cracking or fading
- Breathes better during training
Women's Performance Fabrics
For our women's collection, we go further. Our leggings and sports bras use recycled polyester-spandex blends — certified performance fabrics made partly from recycled plastic bottles. This isn't just a sustainability story (though it matters). Recycled poly performs differently than virgin poly: it wicks moisture more efficiently, dries faster, and holds compression longer through heavy use.
The Print Process
We use direct-to-garment (DTG) printing for most of our designs and high-quality embroidery for our embroidered collection. Both processes are calibrated specifically for each blank — color profiles are adjusted for the base fabric color, ink is set for the specific thread count. This is why a VEXR black tee looks different (better) than the same design printed on a cheaper blank.
Our Quality Promise
Before any VEXR piece ships, it goes through a quality check at Printful's production facilities. If something doesn't meet the standard, it doesn't ship — and we'll produce a new one at no cost to you.
